The antagonists faced by Luffy in Season 1 of One Piece live-action adaptation have already been loved by the viewers and now, the fans are expecting nothing less for the season 2. The villains of season 1 were really game-changing. Usually, when anime is made into a live-action show, it doesn’t look as good as the original. This is because low budget which stops the productions to make the amazing, magical things in the anime look real.

In the upcoming season the Straw Hats pirates will be entering the Grand Line. As it is certain that Grand Line is the most dangerous part of ocean where the most powerful pirates of One Piece world are present. And when the protagonist along with his crew will enter the Grand Line, there would definitely be many engaging and interesting triumphs and confrontations. It is highly expected that the villains of season 2 will be way more dangerous than that of season 1.
The season 1 is centered around East Blue Saga showcasing different stories, it is now expected that season 2 will be following same story throughout the season in connectivity. Althought, Straw Hats will still be moving from one place to another involving the mysteries, thrill and adventures in season 2 as well, but the connectivity of season 2 is more than that of saeson 1. For instance, Luffy will meet a new villain named Crocodile early in the season, but the group he’s in, called Baroque Works, will continue to be a problem later on.
Buggy the Clown
Played by Jeff Ward
Buggy is one of the most resilient villain of One Piece manga and also a part of season 1 of One Piece Netflix Debut. This character is all set to make another ground breaking appearance in season of 2 of live- action adaptation of this manga. The surprising power of this character is that he can detach is body parts at his will and use them as weapon by sending them on seek and destroy missions. Jeff Ward has portrayed the character of Buggy perfectly, therefore, it might be possible that he’ll be the leading villain in Loguetown Arc.
The impressive visual and practical effects used to bring Buggy to life give viewers a glimpse of what to expect from the villains in One Piece season 2. Kaji Productions, Tomorrow Studios, and Shueisha used a blue screen and a digital double to create Buggy. They made a 3D version of the actor and combined it with real footage to show Buggy’s unique powers. Buggy will play a key role in the Loguetown Arc, which wasn’t featured in season 1 but will be included in season 2.
Captain Alvida; First Ever Villain of One Piece
Played by Ilia Isorelýs Paulino
Ilia Isorelýs Paulino played the role of leader of Alvida pirates, Alvida in season 1. Regarding the season 2, it is expected that Alvida will unite with Buggy in Loguetown Arc of season 2. The purpose or this union is to defeat Luffy and his crew before they enter the Grand line. However, the Loguetown will not last too long as much of Arabasta Arc needs to get covered in season 2 but this expected union will one of the most interesting twist of the story.
Alvida’s Devil Fruit power allows her to become slippery and slide past surfaces easily and change her physical appearance. This power ultimately enhances her strength as well as speed. However, this ability of Alvida can spread body negativity, so there lies a possibility that the directors won’t be showcasing this power of Alvida and if they do, they must show it very cautiously.
Mr. 9
Played by Daniel Lasker
Another potential villain of season 2 is Mr. 9. He’s a major character of One Piece. Mr. 9 is the code name of a former Frontier Agent and bounty hunter of Baroque Works. He befriended Nefertari Vivi during his time at Baroque Works. This friendship points towards the fact that Vivi might possess devilish nature but the truth is more complex.
The character of Mr. 9 is played by Daniel Lasker will likely bring an ethereal elegance to the Baroque Works villain. Mr. 9 won’t be possessing any Devil Fruit powers in live-action adaptation and will be easily defeated. However, his acrobatics and weapons clarify why he’s a member of Baroque Works. This character will surely be bringing some thrilling twists in season 2.
Miss Valentine
Played by Jazzara Jasly
A partner of Mr. 9 is Miss Valentine. She possesses Devil Fruit power by which she can increase her mass to the extent that she can kill her by sitting on them and getting them crushed because of her mass. She is really a powerful and dangerous villain for upcoming season. It would be interesting to see how the show adapts this power for the live-action format. Mr. 9 and miss Valentine can actually cause great destruction in upcoming season.
She is also known as Mikita, and most likely to make her appearance in Whisky Peak Arc therefore, she won’t be making an appearance in the beginning of season 2 but would appear halfway through season 2. Mikita’s interactions with David Dastmalchian’s Mr. 3 should be a huge highlight of Little Garden since both Dastmalchian and Mikita actress Jazzara Jaslyn are excellent.
Mr. 5
Played by Camrus Johnson
Mr. 5 will be teaming up with Miss Valentine in her misadventures in Whisky Peak Arc. This classic duo will be giving some tough time to Straw Hats. Although they both will be playing a major role in Whisky Peak arc but they will have lesser significance in Little Garden arc. The role of M. 5 will be played by Camrus Johnson.
Mr. 5 is a Devil Fruit user. He uses Bomu Bomu No Mi fruit also know as Boom-Boom Fruit. This fruit allows him to explode any part of his body and cause destruction. Although, he doesn’t has a major role but his Devil Fruit power will surely introduce some thrilling scenes in season 2. A confusion arises at this point, that is how big of a role the low-level Baroque Works members will have in season 2 compared to the manga, especially because the actual Arabasta arc is being saved for season 3.
Nico Robin- Miss All Sunday
Played by Lera Abova
Nico Robin, a member of Straw Hats will be shown as an antagonist in live-action debut. Her entire backstory is known by the manga readers, but those who haven’t read the manga and are now about to watch the live-action, they’ll be seeing Nico Robin as a villain. She’s one of the most beloved character of One Piece, therefore, her casting has been done very carefully trying not to hurt the sentiments of the fandom. Lera Abova will be bringing this beloved character to life.
Nico will be making her entrance into the season at the end of Whisky Peak arc and would make a great focal point for One Piece season 2. as the Arabasta arc is not too close right now, crocodile might be having a minor role in season 2. In season 2, the set up for making Crocodile the major villain of Season 3 will be made and in season 2 he’ll remain in the shadows while Miss All Sunday is expected to be the major villain due to the popularity of the character and Nico Robin’s ties in the story.
Mr. 3
Played by David Dastmalchia
A Highlight of Season 2 to look forward to is the casting of David Dastmalchian as Mr. 3. In just 2023 Dastmalchian shined in his role in Late Night with the Devil, not to mention his numerous castings in Movies and Shows, such as in The Dark Knight and Dune. His experience helps to make the dangerous, mildly pathetic but always humorous Mr. 3 really come to life. Mr. 3’s ever-changing, iconic hairdo is a heavily anticipated point of One Piece season 2.
In season 2, Baroque Work’s will be featured. This group of villains is a great hurdle for Straw Hats to deal with during their journey in search of One Piece. Talking about the uniqueness of One Piece villains, each villain is of different traits and powers with Mr. 3 being the most funniest villain of all. Mr. 3 is a perfect example of the uniqueness of these villains as he has been displayed as a dangerous villain who doesn’t take even himself seriously.
Wapol
Played by Rob Coletti
Wapol, the main villain of Drum Island Arc. And this arc is supposed to be the last arc of One Piece season 2. There will be a major confrontation between Wapol and the beloved protagonist Luffy. The Drum Island arc is one of the most heartwarming and tragic arcs in One Piece, therefore, it would be interesting how Live-action debut will deal with it. Also, this is the arc in which the fandom will get to know about the tragedy and heartbreaking story of Tony Tony Chopper’s origin and past.
Wapol will most likely make his appearance at the end of season 2 ultimately becoming the climatic villain of the season. It would also allow the show to focus on the Arabasta saga and other important storylines before diving into the Drum Island arc. While he’s not directly related to Baroque Works or anything else in Arabasta saga, it is a thing to wonder if the Netflix show will either connect him to any big plot or something else. However, the most important thing is how faithfully Netflix has adapted his unique and over-the-top character. His Devil Fruit powers are absurdly fun and seeing these powers come to life will definitely be a treat to watch.
Sir Crocodile
Played by Joe Manganiello
Joe Manganiello is all set to play Crocodile in One Piece season 2. He’s one of the most hyped antagonist of One Piece also known as Mr. 0. He enjoys different positions in different organizations, he’s the leader of Baroque Works, he’s also one of the Seven Warlords of the sea during the Arabasta arc. He is an extremely dangerous yet interesting villain of One Piece. Although he won’t appear as a major character in season 2 but a small teaser of him as major character in next season will definitely be shown.
Crocodile is the user of of Sand-Sand Devil Fruit. This fruit allows it’s user to transform into sand manipulating the opponents and also cause massive and violent sand storms. Moreover, the user will be able to turn any of his body part into a sand made weapon. This sand based power in real life would be really interesting to watch. He’s definitely a villain that is about to give some tough time to Luffy and his crew in season 2 as well as in season 3. He is also referred to the “Desert King”.

One Piece is a beloved series having a huge fan following. It was a dream of Eiichiro Oda to have a live-action adaptation of One Piece and now, as this dream is fulfilling, the directors, producers and all members are working to keep the engaging and interesting storyline of One Piece alive.
One Piece already introduced a unique variety of villains in the manga with each one of them having distinct properties. Now, the live-action debut has tried it’s best to bring these characters and their powers to life. Each and every actor perfectly matches with the anime version of their character and what’s more interesting is seeing the magical powers of Devil Fruits in reality.
These villains play a pivotal role in One Piece manga as well as the live-action adaptation. With the promise of more confrontations and character development to come, season 2 sets the stage for even more intense battles and emotional storytelling.
